God it´s a lovely day outside!
and that is exactly the reason why i´m indoors where it´s cool and shaded. None of that Vitamin D enriching rays for me. I´d rather have rickets!
But of course it´s Monday and that can mean only one thing. It´s that time of the week where i bestow upon you some quality musical wondrousness. As it´s sunny and the atmosphere is calm and placcid, i´m gving you some softer more gentle stuff this week. I give you the OST to the film “Dead Mans Shoes“.
Dead Mans Shoes was one of UK´s most underrated films of the last decade. A modern revenge “western” directed by Shane Meadows and starring Paddy Considine. I totally recommend it as required viewing. But as with many a great film, there is always a brilliant soundtrack behind it. The Soundtrack itself is mostly a quiet, acoustic and perhaps a bit downtempo affair with music from Calexico, Richard Hawley, M.Ward and a rather unlikely track from Aphex Twin.
But the real jewel is the song Statued by Adem, which is just so brilliant, i think it´s one of the best acoustic songs recorded in the past 15 years. And if you don´t agree with me, see my fist?…….
you know what to do. If you don´t then you´re an idiot….
