Just a short post on this one.
Last night a trailer was released on Facebook for a new Documentary about Icelandic Music. titled “Backyard”, it tells the story of how two guys, Árni Sveinsson (Filmmaker, DJ and a guy i know very well) and Árni Rúnar Hlöðversson (member of popular Icelandic Electro outfit FM Belfast), decided to organise and produce a Live album of various local bands, the action taking place in Árni Rúnars backyard. Things took on a life of their own and the ensuing chaos was filmed and made into a documentary.
Bands Included are Hjaltalín, MÚM, FM Belfast, Retro Stefson, Borko, Reykjavík! & Sin Fang. It certainly looks like a good time was had by all (i even see my good friend Frímann skulking in the crowd. He had short hair then…)
My good Friend Rebecca Louder also did an interview with them a couple of months ago about the making of the film and you can read it here.
Oh and the Doc will be premiered at Bíó Paradís on September 10th apparently. Might go and see it if i´m not doing anything else….
