If you are having a bit of a Halloween party this weekend and you need some slightly spooky music, then there are a few mixtapes that have come across my RSS Feeder that may at least make your evening a little more atmospheric. And there is no sight of the fucking “Monster Mash”, “Thriller” or “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”
first up is the annual Halloween mixtape from that well-known free mp3 blog Gorilla Vs Bear. Another interesting little mix can be found over at the blog Killed in Cars (great name). Their Halloween mix, titled “The Witching Hour” is very much aligned towards the current spooky “witch House” genre, so we have the likes of †‡†, White Ring, †NO VIRGIN† and GuMMy†Be▲R!. The main culprits in this mix are the likes of Skinny Puppy, 1000 Homo DJs, NiN, Front 242 and Ministry (before they went all metal). black PVC underpants are a must….
