Tonight hs been a slightly stressful evening. Having Deluged Haukur with numerous reviews and continuing to work on my “Project Orinoco” feature, things only ground to a halt for over an hour when we realised our cute fluffy cat-child creature Stalin (or Fat faced little shitbag” as i call him) was missing. Turned out he managed to get himself locked into the basement of our neighbours house. I´ve lost a lot of hair over this!
but tonight work is eventually done, and to try to relax, i look towards the heavens and some lovely germanic space rock in the form of GILA. Gila started out in a Stuttgart commune but became one of those space rock/ Krautrock movers and shakers who were closely linked with the likes of Popol Vul and Amon Düül. This track from their 1973 album “bury My heart at Wounded Knee” has all those wide, expansive guitar sounds and shaman rhythms that expands your mind in a good way. I need a cuppa now before bed…
