So now i’m home. Have spent the evening undertaking an interview with the organisers of one of the best music festivals in the world (or at least in Iceland), EISTNAFLUG. Non Icelanders, i seriously suggest that you get saving and come to this sometime. It’s a lot fo fun, plus there’s often a large amount of illegal moonshine up for grabs too. As for the interview, it went really well. I managed to get some decent quotes and a few laughs and they also talked a little about some other stuff they’re getting up to. Watch this space!
So as for tonight, i was thinking about putting a song that i posted last night on the old social media from the Sunn o))/ earth split album as it’s a truly head wrecking song to listen to on a Long summers night. But instead i think i*lll go for this. Ideally this song is a winters track, but i think that it would work at 2am on a Sunday morning as well, especially if you’re at the end of your tether.
The cruel mother is a track from two very disturbed fleshbags, Mick Harris (Scorn, Mapalm Death) and Martyn Bates (Eyeless in Gaza). “The Cruel Mother” is a track that comes from their “murder ballads” collection, which was a trio of 3 albums they did in the 90’s where they mixed long form folk songs about murders and stuff, with some of the most harrowing dark ambient/noise music you´ll ever hear. It’s the sort fo music that you’d hear cenobytes singing if they went to the wood and sang songs around a campfire (While sticking razor blades through their genitals presumably). VERY dark and just the sort of thing you need to listen to on a warm summers night.
