Music Moment: The Stranger, “Where Are Our Monsters Now, Where Are Our Friends?”

10 Sep

Some new writing will appear in the next couple of days! I promise, etc, etc…

Meanwhile until then here is a queasy soup of a song that  has got me feeling all woozy. THE STRANGER is the alter ego of, Leyland Kirby (AKA the Caretaker), who is a perennial favourite down here on the farm, and it looks like he is going to have an album out soon on Modern Love (Again another favourite of ours!).

And this track from the album has now surfaced. Very heavy, Veeeery bleak, especially with the video that comes with it.  it’s like the unwanted, malevolent cousin to BoC’s “Tomorrow’s Harvest” album. Everything is adrift in a sea of noise fog with a percussion that has the brute simplicity of  Pan Sonic’s “Mutaaattori.” Kirby is really not messing around with this one.
