Hello there

No I am not dead, despite the complete inaction on this blog due to numerous reasons.

But as everyone is doing all their end of year/best of/codifying our taste as consensus in this our year 2014.

So yes I think i too shall take part in a list. Below is a (nearly) full list of all the music I bought and received in 2014. Some are free downloads, a lot are promos/gifts I received. Everything else I bought (and yes there are a few things i “downloaded” as well such as old soundtrack albums, hard to find tapes and the like). One of the things about buying digitally is the ability to support a helluva lot of people with my money in a way that i probably wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise. Wouldn’t even have listened to a fraction of this if I had to get them on vinyl. It all still cost me a bloody fortune though…..

Of course I’m not anti-vinyl. This list for example doesn’t include all the 2nd hand stuff I’ve scavenged from the local shops over the past year.

And this list doesn’t mention all the mixes/streams/listening to the radio. nor will it include the frenzied last minute buying i will be doing tomorrow on Bandcamp before so many people I know will be taking down their site because of all this VATMOSS bullshit.
